UltraTech has developed its Ultra-BagFilter to meet the requirement of the TRUPACT II SAR and the new WIPP Part B requirements for filters installed in bags for waste containment.  These sintered steel filters are installed by UltraTech into PVC or polyethylene bags via a radio frequency welding process or by a heat sealing process.

These processes are designed to provide a quality seal, maximum filter efficiency and virtually no protrusions from the bag sidewall to catch or bind the bag during handling or placement into other packages.

UltraTech offers complete filtered bags with all components and installation done by UltraTech.  This method insures that no worker error can occur on-site where filters are installed at the final destination.  By having the unit completed, assembled, inspected and

tested under NQA-1 conditions at our facilities, the Ultra-Radwaste Filter Bags are assured of performance and ease of use.

The UltraTech filter technology for bags can be enhanced to allow extremely high rates of hydrogen diffusion.  This process may allow the bags to be exempted from being considered a layer of confinement, allowing increased wattage limits for packaging purposes.
